Dear Las Trampas POOL MEMBERS,

We are the 2024 Las Trampas Swim Team Co-Directors, Dana Herman and Amy Coombe. Together we are excited to welcome you to the 2024 swim team season. If you are new to our Swim Team programs, please feel welcome to email us and introduce yourself, and tell us about your swimmers.

Our Swim Team website is WWW.LTST.ORG. Please see the website for information about our upcoming programs: 2024 Spring Clinic, Swim Team, Mudskippers / Sea Ponies, and Seahorse Day Camp. Registration for each of these programs, Parent Job information, and swim meet declarations and much more will be on the new website.

Important note: Setting up a profile (username, password, account details) is part of the registration process - it is not completed in advance.

KEY DATES

• February 5th (2:00 PM): Spring Clinic registration opens for returning pool members
• February 12th (2:00 PM): Spring Clinic registration opens to new pool members, if space allows
• February 16th: 14+ Seahorse Job Applications due (including coaching and day camp positions)
• February 26th (2:00 PM): Swim Team, Mudskipper and Sea Pony registration opens for returning pool members
• March 4th (2:00 PM): Swim Team, Mudskipper and Sea Pony registration opens for new pool members, if space allows
• March 19th: Spring Clinic begins
• March 20th (2:00 PM): Seahorse Camp registration opens to registered swim team families
• March 27th (2:00 PM): Seahorse Camp registration opens to non-swim team families, if space allows
• April 22nd: Pre-Season practice begins
• May 19th: Time Trials
• June 3rd: First day of morning practice
• June 4th: First day of pre-team programs (Mudskippers and Sea Ponies)
• July 27th & 28th: DCSL Championship Meet (This is the most important meet of the season!)

MUDSKIPPERS & SEA PONIES

We are fortunate to have two pre-team programs for our young swimmers at LT. We plan to offer both programs during summer 2024. The first program is Mudskippers, designed for swimmers who are water-safe but just beginning to learn strokes. Our second program, the Sea Ponies, is designed for swimmers who are slightly more experienced, but not quite ready for Swim Team. REQUIRED ASSESSMENTS FOR NEW 8 & UNDERS

In preparation for the Mudskippers, Sea Ponies, and Swim Team, please note that swim assessments are REQUIRED for all 8 & Under swimmers who are new to LTST programs. If your child has never participated in an LTST program and is 8 years old or younger, please plan to attend one Assessment Day. Assessments are scheduled for April 17th and April 20th. We will have helpers in the water in case your child needs a little reassurance. Sign-up for an assessment HERE.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR SEAHORSES 14+

There are a number of opportunities for Las Trampas Swim Team members aged 14+ to work for the Team this summer.  After reading the job descriptions outlined on the website, please complete the 2024 LTST Summer Job Opportunities application. Applications must be submitted by February 16th. No late submissions will be accepted. We anticipate interviews to be tentatively scheduled for February 24th.
